Intel Cove Point, 'blend' Ultrabook & Tablets

Intel initiated the presence ultrabook, super thin laptop with speeding the performance of which has now produced a variety of leading vendors. Leading chip manufacturers were even more serious work Ultrabook. The proof of this recently, they showed ultrabook hybrid device with operating system Windows 8.

At the Intel Developer Forum 2012 in Beijing not long ago, Intel demonstrated the design of hybrid tablet nicknamed Cove Point. This device can change shape rapidly, becoming ultrabook and when folded into a tablet.

"This is an evolution. Ultrabook was never intended by the design that is always the same," said Gary Richman, Director of Marketing for Intel's PC Client Solutions Division.

Cove Point is similar to Android tablet like the Asus Transformers who could change shape. Cove Point also both have a touch screen that can be used to navigate the tablet if the keyboard is put together.

However, the Cove Point seems more powerful in the hardware sector, like a PC. Cove Point Intel shows the CPU using Intel Ivy Bridge, a new generation of Intel processors. The screen size of 12.5 inch with two USB ports and a HDMI port.

"With CovePoint, we want to define an attractive form factor, the use and benefits of notebook design and the touch experience on Windows 8," said Richman is quoted from Wired, Tuesday (04/17/2012).

Unclear which manufacturers will make devices such as Cove Point and at the time of marketing. The price is supposedly in the range of USD 1,000.
