Gadget Most 'Green' - Greenpeace Version

How good a gadget is not only measured by the level of sophistication. But also in terms of how much these devices contribute to the environment. Greenpeace also has a champion for the gadgets that most 'green' this.

For this year, an environmental organization is intentionally announced the title of the gadget's most 'green' in the midst of sparkling party gadget world, the Consumers Electronics Show (CES) 2011 held in Las Vegas, United States.



 
There are 18 IT companies who were respondents in Greenpeace. They include Dell, Fujitsu, HCL, Lenovo, LG Electronics, Motorola, Nokia, Panasonic, Research In Motion, Toshiba and Wipro.

The world-class IT companies are judged by four criteria, namely how much the use of hazardous chemicals in their products, related to electricity consumption, how to recycle products and innovative marketing strategies and what they have run in order to campaign for environmentally friendly programs.

"From the surveys we do, it seems that the company has shown good progress in recent years related to the use of hazardous substances, energy efficiency, and recycling programs," said Renee Blanchard, representatives from Greenpeace International

"Large companies have demonstrated their responsibility to provide an environmentally friendly gadgets to the users, and we hope they continue the innovation and apply it to all products, not just some," he added, quoted by AFP on Friday (07/01/2011)
